Layoff of 40 station masters put off

The decision of the Thiruvananthapuram division to cut down 40 station master posts has been frozen.

According to sources, the decision was suspended by Rakesh Mishra, General Manager, Southern Railways on Friday.

The decision comes in the wake of agitations by the All-India Station Masters Association and the Southern Railways Mazdoor Union for the past two weeks ever since the order was passed by Thiruvananthapuram Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Agarwal.
