Man kills brother's kids

Two children, Melbin, 7,  and Mobin, 3, sons of Shyju of Keekozhur, were killed by their father’s brother who slit their throats on Sunday. A dispute over the ownership of the house led to the murders.

Two children, Melbin, 7,  and Mobin, 3, sons of Shyju of Keekozhur, were killed by their father’s brother who slit their throats on Sunday. A dispute over the ownership of the house led to the murders.

Shibu, brother of Shyju who works in a Gulf country, killed the children after pouring chilly powder in the eyes of his mother and Bindu, the mother of the children.

Ranni police arrested Shibu, who was admitted in a hospital after being found that he had consumed poison. After the murder, Shibu set fire to the house by pouring diesel, which he bought on Saturday, police said.

Eyewitnesses  said that the house was constructed by Shibu, who worked abroad earlier. However, the father of Shibu gave the ownership right of the house to his brother Shiju. At present, Shibu and his family is living on a rental house, they said.
