A day after former AICC member Shanimol Usman stirred a hornet’s nest in the KPCC executive meeting demanding a probe into Union Minister K C Venugopal’s alleged nexus with the ‘Solar’ scam accused Saritha S Nair, another Congress leader D Sugathan, convener of election committee of the Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency, came out on Wednesday saying DCC president A A Shukoor was implementing his own agenda in the District Congress Committee.

Sugathan said that he wanted the public to be aware of the DCC president’s personal ire towards Vellappally Natesan as well as SNDP Yogam. “The district Congress has no anti-Vellappally Natesan or anti-SNDP Yogam attitude. But, the DCC president wants to prove his authority by firing invectives and launching a lone attack on him, which is utterly unlikeable and has not gone down well with the party.”

Clarifying his stance on Shanimol Usman’s demand for a probe into the links of Venugopal with Saritha, he said that her demand for a probe against Venugopal was the result of an allegation levelled by Shukoor in the report submitted to the KPCC recently.

“In the report, Shukoor had alleged that Shanimol had worked against the UDF candidate during the campaign tour.

Being the campaign chief in the constituency, I did not notice any lapse on her part.
