2 Men Swept Away, Boy Electrocuted

A Plus Two student was electrocuted and two others swept away by currents of rainwater-swelled rivers, in separate mishaps in the district on Sunday.

KANNUR:  A Plus Two student was electrocuted and two others swept away by currents of rainwater-swelled rivers, in separate mishaps in the district on Sunday.

Waseem, 17, a Plus Two student from Madayi, was electrocuted on Sunday morning when he accidentally stepped into a muddle in which a live electric line had fallen. 

Gopalakrishnan alias Kuttan, 52, a resident of Parakkadavu in Chittarikkal Police Station limits, was swept away by Thejaswini River on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that the search operations were on but the currents were very strong and the torrential rain was hampering the search. In another accident in Palappuzha River, Balakrishnan, 44, son of Raman Nair, Kuruva House, Palappuzha, went missing in the flood near Kakkayangad.
