Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday said the word ‘despicable creature’  should not be there in any Congressman’s dictionary.

Express News Service

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday said the word ‘despicable creature’  should not be there in any Congressman’s dictionary. He was addressing the Thrissur Parliament election convention of UDF candidate K P Dhanapalan here on Monday.

He advised the party workers to show a sense of tolerance while facing criticism.

In an apparent reference to Congress MLA V T  Balram’s controversial Facebook postings indirectly referring to Idukki bishop which said “it is very disappointing to note that there were some despicable elements who drive out those who come home seeking votes”, Chandy said that all have the right to criticise but should be mindful about the words they use. He also said that people criticise the party to rectify mistakes if any.

Chandy also said the state has never ever witnessed a situation where the CPM was forced to run for candidates. This is a much-needed lesson for the CPM as the voters won’t support a party that has literally eliminated its political foes,” he said.
