Express News Service

KOCHI: Even as the sound of mortars being fired and bursting shells boom in the villages of Jammu bordering Pakistan, the cyberspace is witnessing a no holds barred war between warriors of a different kind: Pro-Pakistani hackers and the legion fan boys of Malayalam actor Mohanlal.

A group of hackers calling themselves. “The Mallu Soldiers of FB” on Thursday defaced some Pakistan-based websites, allegedly in retaliation to the hacking of the official website of actor Mohanlal, a lieutenant colonel with the territorial army.  The hackers posted a still from the hit movie ‘Sphadikam’ along with a film punch dialogue “nee poo mone dineshaaaa” on the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) website.

A tagline called it "payback for hacking our Lalettan’s website".

Hackers also posted the pictures of territorial army and movie posters with messages in Malayalam on the website of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) website.

“Feel the power of Indian mad hunter, dont dare to mess with us, otherwise Kashmir toh hoga lakin Pakistan nahi hoga,” said the post. It also said “Adolf Hitler, lottuduk and ustad hacked this site as a revenge to your firing at Kashmir. First take back this site then u try to take back our Kashmir. by mallus”.

Some fans of the actor and a section of the Pakistanis had took the fight to the Facebook page of Pakistani Military, where both sides hurled abuses at each other.

On Tuesday, pro-separatist hackers had defaced the page of Mohanlal. They had uploaded an image of Pakistani flag along with messages and separatist slogans. The site was recovered around 30 minutes later and the actor on Wednesday filed an official complaint with the police in regard to the incident by email.

The last post in the actor’s website www.thecompleteactor.com praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his interactions with the students on the teachers day.
