Will Reconsider Results of other PG Courses: VC

Express News Service

KOTTAYAM: Mahatma Gandhi University will reconsider the results of other post-graduate examinations in the wake of lapses found in the valuation of MA English papers.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Babu Sebastian told ‘Express’ that the syndicate sub-committee, which conducted the inquiry on failure of MA English students, has been entrusted to examine genuineness of the complaints regarding mass failure, filed by students of other courses. He said that a sub-committee will convene a meeting on Monday to take decision on the matter. “We have decided to conduct a random sampling on the complaints filed by the students of MA Economics, MCom, MSc Chemistry and Botany and BBA. The university will consider the issue with due seriousness if the complaints are genuine. In such a situation, we will cancel the valuation and would conduct special valuation,” he said. He dismissed the allegation of loopholes in the valuation scheme and said no complaints have been received in this regard. “The scheme of valuation doesn’t affect the percentage of marks secured by the students. However, we will look into the issue,” he added.  According to him, syndicate sub-committee consisting of Dr N Jayakumar, Prof C H Abdul Lathif, and Prof Indu K S will consider all the complaints of students.
