Ayiroor Sadasivan Dies in Road Mishap

ALAPPUZHA: Playback singer Ayiroor Sadasivan, 76, died in an accident at Manackachira on Alappuzha-Changanassery road (AC road) on Thursday morning.  His son Sreekumar who was injured, has been admitted to a private hospital at Changanassery. The Changanassery police said that the incident happened around 7.45 am when the car in which Sadasivan was travelling fell on a marshy paddy field, near Onnampalam, at Manackchira.

The car hit the crash barrier of the bridge and fell into the paddy field. Sreekumar was driving the car and he suffered minor injury. The duo were returning toAyiroor after attending a programme at Angamaly, the police said.  Though the police and the local people took them out from the car and rushed them to the hospital, Sadasivan succumbed to his injuries.Sadasivan is a native of Aiyroor, near Adoor, in Pathanamthitta district. He began his  singing career with Arjunan Master in dramas.

Later he associated with G Devarajan, Dakshinamoorthy and other well-known Malayalam music directors. The body was handed over to relatives afterpostmortem examination at Changanassery government hospital. Sreelal is his another son. His wife Radha predeceased him.
