Express News Service

KOZHIKODE: The final day of the school meet belonged to Jisna Mathew. Emphatically too. The protege of legendary P T Usha bagged three gold medals, and it was the third consecutive time she managed to achieve the feat.  She won gold in 100m, 200m and 400m races and clinched the champion title with gold in 4x400m relay and silver in 4x100m relay in the senior girls category. “Now, I am looking to bag a triple hat-trick in the national school meet,” said Jisna, who represented India in junior international athletic championships.

Jisna also set a record in the senior girls’ 200m race clocking 24.76 sec, breaking the record of 25.10 sec set by Indulekha E M in 2008.

Earlier, she had set a meet record in 100m, clocking 12.08 sec. She overhauled the record of 12.
