Hundreds of passengers waiting for buses at a depot in Wayanad district of Kerala were left baffled when television sets installed in the waiting hall started screening porn videos, according to reports.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning at Kalpetta KSRTC government bus stand.

It is believed that the cable operator mixed up his personal pen drive with another one.

Sources said the x-rated video was played around 30 minutes as the remote control was not available and operator's room was locked. Some people tried to cover the TV sets with clothes but the sound remained high forcing the disturbed passengers including women and children to leave the place.

The local authorities, finally, managed to disconnect the cable.

An eyewitness' post on Reddit reads: "Mothers with their children, college girls and some others ran away."

Huffington Post quoted Kalpetta police sub-inspector James George as saying that they had identified and apprehended the cable operator on duty.

A case has been registered under section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (obscene and indecent advertisement and display), the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, and various sections of the Information Technology Act.
