Airport Vandalisation Case: Nine CISF Personnel Arrested

KONDOTTY:  Nine Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, accused in the Calicut International Airport (CIA) vandalisation case, surrendered at Kondotty police station on Sunday.  Earlier, four CISF men have been arrested by the police, taking the number of arrested personel to 13.

The arrested are identified as West Bengal native Suresh Goula, 28, Rajastan native Chandran, 28, Odisha native K K Gowda, 26, UP natives Jithendra Kumar, 27, Aravind Yadav, 26, Maharashtra natives Aswani Kumar, 23, J A Nadarajan, 30, Madhya Pradesh native Amith Tiwari, 26, and Jharkhand native Dheerendra Oran, 27. Four CISF personnel, who were arrested earlier, are under judicial custody. The police have identified the 13 CISF personnel by checking the CCTV footage.

“The CISF Deputy Commandant in the airport, Daniel Dhanraj, brought the CISF personnel to the station on Sunday evening.  We have recorded the arrest here,”Kondotty SI B Santhosh said.

The police team under Malappuram DySP S Abhilash had served legal notice to CISF officials to handover the CISF personnel accused in the case.  As per the direction of the CISF officials, all the accused have surrendered at the Kondotty station.

The police will present the nine CISF men at Manjeri court on Monday.
