Express News Service

KOLLAM:Kerala Water Authority officials spotted two to three cracks at the Thenmala dam, being constructed as part of the Kallada Irrigation Project.

The officials said that water was found leaking from one of the cracks. When ‘Express’ inquired about this, Assistant Engineer of Thenmala dam, Suja S S, said that there was nothing to be concerned about the leak and added that the leak has been temporarily sealed on Saturday by a team from Kochi, who were well-versed in underwater photographic survey.

‘’The team sealed the leak temporarily and the measures to permanently close the leak will be discussed in a meeting on Friday. As there were many methods to permanently seal the leak we will give priority to select the most cost-effective one,’’ Suja S S said.
