Nafeesath Beevi Laid to Rest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior Congress leader and former Deputy Speaker of Kerala Assembly A Nafeesath Beevi, who passed away on Monday, was laid to rest on Wednesday evening at the Palayam Jumma Masjid. Earlier, her body was kept at the Assembly building and the KPCC office, where thousands paid their last tributes. She was 91 and is survived by a son and three daughters.She was elected to the second Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1960 from the Alappuzha constituency. She was the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from 1960-64.
