THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With just four days left for the elections to the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the BJP has come out with a 15- point development agenda, specially emphasizing development and on Hinduthwa.

Aiming for a final push to their campaign, BJP  offers to implement projects like Smart drainage, Intelligent traffic control system and production of energy from wastes.

The urban development scheme Under the Ananthapadmanabha urban development scheme, the drainage system in the city would be modernised. Solid wastes would be removed through manholes every month.

The waste water level will be recorded every month through a digital system. Ultrasonic sensors will send danger signals to the control room when the waste water level goes up beyond control. There will be gravity-based  electronic system to solve the water-logging.It also offers to implement a road  development project -- Sree Vidyadhiraja Road Development Scheme in association with the central road development projects. Another promise is to connect all the city roads to a ring road to be constructed outside the city in a star-like alignment. The Star roads will link with all roads in a ward. Star road project is promised to be completed in 3 years and connection roads in four years.

In the manifesto, waste management has given emphasis with  thrust on generating energy from wastes. On the drinking water sector, Vaikundaswamikal  Grape Well Water Scheme will provide ultra-violen system for water treatment. Drinking water machines will be installed at a reduced.Netaji Yuva Vikas Kendra to be opened in the city will  focus on the implementation of Centre’s Skill India project. Incubation centres and Ekalavya are the schemes offered to attract the youth.

For students, BJP has designed a programme in the manifesto -- ‘A P J Abdul Kalam Students Welfare Programme.’  Under this programme,  Clean toilet, water cooler, Yoga/kalari centres, Barister G K Pillai scholarship, studnets only buses have been offered. The college students will be provided Wi-fi  facility and free text books.All  homeless people in the city will be given flats under Sree Narayana Guru Habitat project.Mahatma Ayyankali Social Welfare Scheme aims for the progress of the under-privleged socially backward communities. Under this project, career guidance and coaching centres will be opened to ensure government job for candidates from backward sections.Velukutty Arayan Workers Welfare Scheme, offers 1000 janaseva autorickshaws, free treatment for sanitation workers, employment guaranty and shelters for head-load workers.

Dr Palpu Arogya Mission aims to provide round- the-clock ambulance service, blood donation volunteers and Hotline facility to contact volunteers. BPL families are promised to be given Rs 500-worth free medicine every month.

E-governance, corruption free administration, and compensation for delayed service are the promises under the Model City project.

Sri Chithia Thirunal International Veda Padana Kendram, Annappoorana Starvation Free City,  Temple City Project to link pilgrim centres in the city, heritage museum, and Navodhana navamy scheme for the jayanthi celebrations of renaissance leaders like Sree Narayana  Guru also feature in the manifesto.
