KOTTAYAM: A middle-aged couple died when the twowheeler they were travelling was run over by a speeding car at Elamgulam near Ponkunnam on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Shabin Mathew, 46, of Kunnappallil house, Karakkamattom in Chirakkadavu and his wife Rincy, 42. According to the police, accident occurred around 2.30 pm near Elangulam Temple along Punalur-Moovattupuzha State Highway. The two-wheeler, they were travelling hit down by the speeding car, which was coming from the opposite direction. Shabin died on the way to hospital and Rincy died at Government Medical College Hospital, Kottayam.
