Munnar Stir Will be Resolved Soon: KPCC chief

KOZHIKODE:  KPCC chief V M Sudheeran has assured that the ongoing stir at Munnar by plantation labourers would be resolved soon.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Sudheeran said the workers commenced a strike after the company management was reluctant to implement welfare measures for them. “A positive effort from the side of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is underway to resolve the issue. The KPCC has extended full support to the stir, and we hope that the issue would be settled soon,” he added.

The KPCC president also confirmed that he had sent a letter to the Chief Minister demanding the removal of Consumerfed chairman Joy Thomas from the post. “However I am not ready to respond in this regard,” he told reporters.
