Actors, Politicians Bid Tearful Adieu to Singer Radhika Thilak

KOCHI: The mortal remains of singer Radhika Thilak were cremated at Ravipuram crematorium here on Monday.

Scores of people paid tributes to the singer whose body was kept at her residence at Panampilly Nagar from the morning. Radhika died on Sunday night after battling cancer for over a year. She was 45.

Actor Mammootty, singer Biju Narayanan,  producer Anto Joseph, Minister for Cultural Affairs K C Joseph, Minister for Excise K Babu, MLAs Hibi Eden, Dominic Presentation and Benny Behanan were among those who paid tributes to the singer.

Radhika had limited her public appearance for the past one year. She gave her voice to songs in nearly 55 films in a career spanning over a decade.

She is the daughter of Parur Paliyath Jayathilak and the late Girija.

She is survived by husband Suresh Krishna, who is the owner of Flamingo Motors Kumbalam, daughter Devika and sister Uma Thilak.
