MALAPPURAM: Radhika Vemula, mother of the deceased Dalit research student Rohit Vemula, paid a visit to the family of Faisal who was killed for allegedly accepting Islam at Farooq Nagar, Kodinhi here.

Consoling Faisal’s mother Meenakshi, Radhika said she could identify Meenakshi’s grief with that of hers. She said that she lost her son to a dictatorial government being controlled by the Sangh Parivar.

“The government is under the control of Sangh Parivar. They are suppressing the minorities and are taking away their rights. We are purposefully targeted by those holding the power at the Center,” Radhika alleged.

She also asked Meenakshi to be brave and live the rest of the life for the family of Faisal.

Radhika arrived at Kodinhi along with Vemula’s friend. She had earlier visited the mother of Jisha who was brutally raped and murdered in Perumbavoor.
