DGPs Refuse to Accept Salary Slip

Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGPs Loknath Behera and Rishiraj Singh have refused to take the temporary salary slip handed over to them by the accountant general. The AG had blocked salary in the scale of DGP rank to the duo, citing Centre’s sanction for posting them in ex-cadre posts, while the cadre post is being held by a junior officer.

Though the officers can draw their salary if they accept the temporary slip, they are learnt to have decided not to opt for it. The officers are learnt to be of the view that the temporary slips would create problems in their salary and even pension in the future.

The officers and Chief Secretary Nalini Netto had earlier warned the government of the present situation. The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to take over the issuing of paying slip from AG and assign it with the Finance Department.
