KOZHIKODE: Twin sisters aged 13 drowned while bathing with relatives in Kuttiyadi river at Thiruvallur near Vadakara on Sunday.
The police identified the victims as Vismaya and Thanmaya, daughters of Sasi, of Puthiyottil house in Shantinagar, Thiruvallur.
According to the police, the mishap occurred around 11.30 am while the duo was bathing.
Though the local people tried to save the kids, their attempts went in vain. Later, the Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed the victims to the Vadakara Government hospital where they were declared dead.
