KOCHI: With the tenure of the Justice G Sivarajan Commission probing the solar scam scheduled to end within 10 days, all eyes are now on the possible findings to be submitted in the investigation report. Interestingly, the commission has not approached the government for further extension of its tenure.
According to officers associated with the commission, the documentation of the report is currently under way. The commission is likely to submit the report to the government before September 27.
“The commission’s tenure is set to end on September 27. In July, the probe panel was granted a tenure extension for two months. At present, the commission is in the process of compiling the report,” a lawyer associated with the commission said.The commission had conducted 353 sittings, out of which, 343 were devoted to gathering evidence and the rest for hearing the arguments. As many as 214 witnesses were examined and their deposition runs into 8,464 pages. It also examined 972 documents comprising 7,998 pages.
