KOTTAYAM: In a scathing attack on CPI leader Kanam Rajendran,  Prathichaya, the official mouthpiece of the Kerala Congress, published an article criticising the CPI and its leader.  The article written by N Jayaraj MLA demanded Kanam to end living in the forest and intervene in people’s issues.

“The CPI got 19 seats not sure to its strength but owing to the generosity of the CPM. It could not prove its strength independently ever,” said the article.Meanwhile, P C George MLA said the stand taken by the CPI on Mani’s LDF entry was the real Left policy. “Kanam Rajendran is a leader who always sticks to his stand. Mani had read out a written speech at the state conference of the CPM. Many outfits, including the INL, have been waiting for entry into the LDF and the CPM should take a decision on Mani only after considering the application of these parties,” George said here on Saturday.

Mani had on Friday addressed a seminar as part of the CPM  state meet in Thrissur. Mani’s presence at the seminar had aroused much interest against the backdrop of the CPM bid to expand the base of the LDF disregarding the protests from the CPI. Another speaker at the seminar ‘Kerala today, tomorrow,’ was CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran, who has been raising criticism against Mani’s entry into the LDF fold.
Addressing the seminar, Kanam Rajendran, expressed his reservation against inducting the Kerala Congress (M) into the LDF.
