THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Having celebrated Sree Krishna Jayanthi, the Left in Kerala is all set for another move to counter the Hindutva forces gaining ground in the state — observe the Ramayana month from July 17, the first day of Karkkidakam.

The party will ‘officially’ keep away even when the CPM supporters gear up to organise the events. State-level seminars, conventions and debates will be organised. Left-supported Sanskrit Sangh has been entrusted with the task. Writer and critic Sunil P Ilayidom will deliver talks. Booth-level conventions to explain the contemporary significance of Ramayana are also on cards.
