THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Museum police have filed charge-sheet against P C George MLA in the case pertaining to allegedly manhandling of a canteen staffer at MLA Hostel. The charge-sheet was submitted to the Judicial First Class Magistrate two months ago and the case was posted to August 9 as the High Court had issued a stay order for two months.

George’s personal assistant Thomas George was also arraigned in the case. The charges slapped against George and his personal assistant are Section 294 (B) for abusing, 323 for causing hurt and 34 for an act done with the common intention of Indian Penal Code. The investigation team has also listed seven witnesses in the case.

The incident took place on February 27 last year. Manu Manoharan, a staff at Cafe Kudumbashree Canteen at MLA hostel premises, was allegedly manhandled by George for the delay in bringing food to his room. The Museum police had registered a case against the legislator and his personal assistant. Manu later got admitted to the general hospital and sought treatment for injuries on his face.
