One more held in Abhimanyu custody murder case

KOCHI: The police team probing the Abhimanyu murder case on Wednesday picked up one more person, who was allegedly a member of the gang that had murdered the SFI leader at Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam.

The arrested has been identified as Saneesh, 28, a native of Palluruthy, who is a member of the trade union of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). He was taken into custody based on the statements collected from Fort Kochi native Riyas, an accused in the case.However, the sleuths refused to divulge more details on the role of the arrested in the murder, even though they confirmed that Saneesh was part of the killer squad.

With this, the total number of persons who have been arrested in the case has become 14. Of this, at least four are accused of being directly involved in the murder. Meanwhile, the police continued grilling Muhmmed, Adil, Anoob and Nisar, who have been in their custody.
