KOZHIKODE: The environmental impact assessment of the controversial water theme park at Kakkadampoyil owned by P V Anwar MLA has become a farce with authorities taking a soft stand.
Despite landslides occurring on the park premises on Thursday, both the local panchayat and Geology Department are in favour of the facility, claiming the area is not ecologically sensitive.

In the backdrop of the recent landslide at Kattippara which claimed 14 lives, District Collector U V Jose had served a stop memo to the park after detecting minor landslides on its premises. District geologist T Mohanan was assigned to prepare a report on the environmental impact of the park situated atop a hill.
