Parents have the discretion to opt schools of their choice, says minister C Raveendranath

Recently, many government schools have been converted to hi-tech classes by setting up digital projector, screen, laptop and internet connectivity.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The Education Minister’s office told Express they would not mandatorily implement and C Raveendranath has made it clear it was up to the parents to enrol children in the schools of their choice.

“We’ve received numerous suggestions. But the government is not in a position to implement and it’s highly impractical. Those who wish to enrol their children in government schools are welcome. But we can’t insist anyone do so,” said the minister’s office.

Recently, many government schools have been converted to hi-tech classes by setting up digital projector, screen, laptop and internet connectivity.

Of these, 149 schools were chosen to be developed as centres of excellence.Another factor was the starting of English medium classes in Malayalam medium public schools which has revived the interest of parents in sending their children.
