TALCHER: Curtains came down on the Lok Mahotsav at Hingula Pitha on Friday night with folk dancers enthralling the  audience.

One of the major attractions of the evening was the Rajasthani folk dance where the artistes performed with ‘matkas’ on their heads. The dancers belonging to Siba Folk Musical Group also performed the ‘Kalbelia’ dance.

“This is our first trip to Odisha. We are elated at the response and would like to perform here again, if invited,” said Siba Ranak, head of the Group.

Besides Rajasthani dance, Nrutya Prativa team from Bhubaneswar and Bajaniya troupe from Sambalpur gave spectacular performances during the cultural fete.

The event concluded with drama based on ‘Patent Medicine’, a work of Fakir Mohan Senapati.

CMD of MCL A N Sahay was the chief guest of the evening. He promised all help for construction of the temple for the presiding deity Maa Hingula. The festival began on April 5.
