The last rites of Siddhartha Mishra, eminent journalist and Sports Editor of The New Indian Express, were held at Puri on Wednesday afternoon.

The last rites of Siddhartha Mishra, eminent journalist and Sports Editor of The New Indian Express, were held at Puri on Wednesday afternoon. The mortal remains of Mishra, who had passed away on Tuesday at the age of 40 after battling cancer for about a year, were flown in from Chennai earlier in the day.

From the Biju Patnaik Airport, the body was taken to the family’s Gajapati Nagar residence where his kin, relatives and friends paid their last respects.

Mishra is survived by his wife Prachitara, son Sumeet and daughter Mamali. His untimely death has been deeply mourned.  ENS
