Missing lady doctor yet to be traced

Express News Service

A fortnight after Ayush doctor Madhavilata went missing, police are still groping in the dark over her whereabouts.

Nilakantha Pradhan, her brother, said Madhavilata who was posted at the Kanas block CHC was staying with a relative at Madhuban under Kumbharpara police limits in Puri. She commuted to Kanas by bus. She is a resident of Brahmagiri.

On October 12 she left the relative’s home as usual for the bus stand but neither reached the place of work nor returned home.

After inquiring with all acquaintances Nilakantha lodged a missing report with Kumbharpara police on the same night.

Meanwhile, the State Bank of India, main branch, tried to contact her over  phone to inform that her ATM card which was found by someone was deposited with the bank.

Unfortunately the bank staff who received the card did not record the identity of the person who gave it.

The locals have demanded that the case be handed over to Crime Branch for a thorough probe.
