Another chit fund organisation has joined the league of duping companies. The organisation, Florish India, has allegedly duped investors of Sonepur district of about Rs 10 crore.

Sources said the company had opened its branches in the district last year in Sonepur, Tarbha, Binka and Birmaharajpur areas.

Assuring high return, the company had collected crores of rupees through its agents.

To establish its goodwill, Florish India had initially paid back the amount it had promised to its investors. But after October last year, the company locked its offices and stopped operation in the area. Though the investors waited for eight months expecting the company to return their money, nothing such happened till now.

When they came to know about police raids on various chit fund  companies in different parts of the State, they turned to Sonepur SP on Wednesday and requested him to look into the matter.

According to sources, the company had collected more than ` 1.5 crore from Sonepur town, over ` three crores from Binka area and the rest money from Tarbha and Birmaharajpur parts of the district.

When contacted, Sonepur SP Niti Shekhar said the investors have requested him to take action against the company.  A case has been lodged at Birmaharajpur police station and investigation is on, he added.
