Burla student scores 98.6 percent

Nikhil Singhania of DAV Public School at Burla secured 98.6 per cent in the Class XII examination of Central Board of Secondary Education, the results of which were announced on Monday. The school is run by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited.

“I aspire to become a doctor,” said Nikhil who scored 100 marks each in Chemistry and Biology, 99 marks each in Mathematics, Physics and 95 marks in English. At Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sambalpur, Ipsita Bohidar scored 96.6 per cent in Science while in Commerce, Puja Khanna secured 91.8 per cent.

Students of Vikash Residential School, Bargarh, also performed well in the Science and Commerce streams. Bhawna Agrawal with 92.8 per cent topped in Science followed by Shreya Varma who secured 90.6 per cent. In Commerce stream, Ankita Jain and Aman Kumar Mittal scored 91.8 per cent. This year, nine students of the school have qualified the IIT-JEE Mains-2013.Bhawna, Shreya and the seven other students have become eligible to appear the IIT-JEE Advance Level Examinations on June 2.
