Advocate's House Burgled in Cuttack

CUTTACK:  Even as police claimed to have solved the robbery on the house of Justice P K Mohanty at CDA Sector 11 on May 30, burglars struck on the house of a High Court advocate in the same locality on Saturday night.

A gang of thieves broke into the house of senior lawyer Ajay Mohanty, who is also the uncle of filmstar MP Anubhav, at CDA sector 11 and located only a few plots away from Justice Mohanty’s house  and decamped with cash, ornaments and valuables to the tune of lakhs.

Ajay Mohanty and his family were not at home at the time. The theft was noticed in the morning by a local priest, who found the doors of the house broken.

The advocate’s family have reported that Rs 60,000 in cash, 140 gms worth gold ornaments and other valuables, including costly household articles and garments, have been stolen.

A case has been registered with the CDA phase II police and investigation is on. The culprits will be nabbed soon, Commissioner Dr R P Sharma said.

Commissionerate police on Sunday revealed that it has nabbed the leader and four members of the gang that had committed robbery on the house of retired High Court judge Justice PK Mohanty on the night of May 30.
