BHUBANESWAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday arrested Gayadhar Jena, proprietor of Sarala Realcon Pvt Ltd, for duping people of crores of rupees.
Jena’s firm had collected money from people to give them housing plots. Claiming to be in possession of land in Satyabhamapur, Pandra and Khurda, Jena had received money from people who aspired to buy plots.
However, when he did not deliver on the promises, people sought refund but Jena would not return their money.
Basing on the complaints, EOW raided his office in Jayadurga Nagar area of the City and his house. The EOW officials said Jena actually did not possess the land he had made claims about.
