Nanda Kishore Passes Away

BHUBANESWAR:Former chief resident executive of Tata Steel Nanda Kishore Patnaik passed away on Saturday night at a private hospital here.

Patnaik was 85. He is survived by four daughters.

Patnaik was ailing for the last two months. His mortal remains were consigned to flames at Puri Swargadwar in the afternoon.

Born on January 2, 1930 at Bangida village in Khurda district, Patnaik joined Tata Steel as its liaison officer on November 1, 1967. He retired as the chief resident executive on January 3, 2000.

Besides Tata Steel, Patnaik also served as director in  several other Tata Steel subsidiary companies, including Tata Sponge Iron Limited, Ipitata Refractories Limited and Tata Refractories Limited. He was also in the board of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and a trustee of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) for several years.
