SAMBALPUR: THE Sambalpur administration will launch an innovative learning programme for students of  government schools in the district.Under the ‘Teach for Sambalpur’ programme, the administration will rope in students of Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Sambalpur, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT),  Sambalpur University and Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) to provide academic support to the schoolchildren. They will teach the students and conduct different activities in elementary and secondary schools. The unique programme will run under ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ of the State Government.

District Collector Samarth Verma said as many as 500 students of IIM, VSSUT, Sambalpur University and GMU besides, other institutions have already enrolled to take classes in the schools. These students will be tagged with different government-run schools where they will conduct classes after the school hours or during weekends.

District Education Officer Pramod Panda said the volunteers will be divided in groups. Each group will be tagged to an elementary or secondary school under  Sambalpur  Municipal Corporation limits besides, schools situated in the periphery of the municipal limits. Subsequently, the programme will be extended to other parts of the district.
