Tito’s two more aides arrested

Jitendra Swain, who had lodged a complaint against Bapu on Saturday, said the two other criminals had also threatened him of dire consequences if he did not meet their extortion demand.

PARADIP:  Two more aides of gangster Tito and his close associate Jyotikant Parida alias Bapu were arrested by Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch from Paradip on Monday. The aides are Alok Mallick of Madhuban and Deepak Swain of  Balijhari slum. Along with Bapu, Alok and Deepak worked for Tito and were involved in criminal activities like extortion, smuggling arms, chain snatching, theft and kidnapping within Paradip police limits. While Alok has nine cases pending against him, four cases are lodged against Deepak. 

They were also handling Tito’s petrol pumps, stevedoring agency and various construction works. Jitendra Swain, who had lodged a complaint against Bapu on Saturday, said the two other criminals had also threatened him of dire consequences if he did not meet their extortion demand. Alok and Deepak were produced in Kujang court which remanded them in judicial custody. 

BJP demands CB probe  
The district BJP leaders has sought Crime Branch (CB) probe into the alleged links between Tito and BJD leaders including local MLA Damodar Rout, Chairman of Paradip Municipality Basant Biswal and trade union leader Golak Nayak. District BJP Yuba Morcha president Sampad Swain alleged that Tito and his accomplices got protection from Paradip Police and BJD leaders. He claimed that Nayak has a share in Tito’s business and Bapu was closely associated with Rout. Bapu’s accomplice, Swain had close links with Biswal, he said.
