Nila Madhab's film bags global honour again

The jury appreciated Panda's courage in undertaking a difficult subject and presenting it in an original and light way, accessible to the young viewer.

BHUBANESWAR: Filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda's movie 'Halka' bagged another international award at Kinolub in Poland. His movie bagged another Grand Prix for being the best feature at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth, Kinolub on Wednesday.

The jury appreciated Panda's courage in undertaking a difficult subject and presenting it in an original and light way, accessible to the young viewer. Earlier, Halka had got Grand Prix at another international film fest at Montreal.

Halka is a movie about the struggle of the protagonist Pichku, a slum dweller, who faces adversities and lack of facilities. This musical film was screened at film festivals at Zlin in Czech Republic; Schlingel in Germany and at other global competitions.
