Jetty at Paradip port to boost industrial development: CM Mohan Charan Majhi

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on Wednesday approved the construction of the dedicated jetty with allied facilities for handling green hydrogen, ammonia and other liquid cargo at Paradip port.

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said Centre’s approval of the Rs 797.17 crore jetty at Paradip port will provide a new momentum to industrial development in the state.

Stating that Odisha is advancing in the renewable energy sector through strong efforts of the double-engine government, the Chief Minister said in a post on X that approval has been granted for a project with an annual capacity of 4 million tonnes for handling green hydrogen, ammonia, and other liquid cargo at the Paradip Port. Through this, Odisha’s green hydrogen production cluster will be integrated with the global market, in alignment with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, he added.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, the chief minister said this project will connect Odisha’s emerging green hydrogen production clusters to global markets and strengthen clean energy export logistics.

“The initiative will further accelerate green investments, generate employment and reinforce Odisha’s role in building a sustainable and future-ready maritime economy,” he added.
