Odisha man murders cousin, held

The deceased was identified as Badanuna Kachim. The accused is 35-year-old Bisambar Kachim.

BERHAMPUR: A 37-year-old tribal man was reportedly hacked to death by his cousin in Badanagajhari village under Ambadola police limits in Rayagada district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Badanuna Kachim. The accused is 35-year-old Bisambar Kachim. Police said Badanuna and Bisambar were at loggerheads for the last more than five years over a property dispute. On the day, the victim found his cousin chopping a tree on his land. When he tried to stop him, a scuffle broke out between the duo. In a fit of rage, Bisambar assaulted Badanuna repeatedly with the axe.

Later, villagers found Badanuna lying in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on his head and face. On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for autopsy. Bisambar was arrested with the axe and produced in court. ENS
