GOVT USING MUSCLE POWER TO INFLUENCE VOTES IN FAVOUR OF ABVP CANDIDATES, CLAIMS BCJD
Bhubaneswar: The BCJD on Monday accused the BJP government of using administrative machinery and muscle power to ensure victory of ABVP candidates in student union elections across the state. Addressing a press conference, BCJD state president Ipsita Sahu and BJD media coordinator Lenin Mohanty alleged that the conduct of elections and role of administrations on campuses have come under suspicion.
She referred to a viral audio clip allegedly linked to RD Women’s University in which an assistant professor is heard alleging that CM Mohan Charan Majhi considered it essential for the BJP government to gain control of the institution through student union elections. ABVP national working committee member Sujit Patra condemned BCJD for trying to link the chief minister with college union elections. He alleged that the audio clip released by BCJD was a conspiracy to defame ABVP.
