HOSUR: Hosur industrial town would get Cauvery water through Hogenakkal Drinking Water Project (HDWP) by 2012, said Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin.

After inaugurating a new bus-stand in Hosur on Sunday, Stalin said a number of major schemes were implemented during DMK regimes in Dharmapuri and Krisnagiri districts. In 1989, the DMK government had introduced the Women Self Help Group concept in the erstwhile Dharmapuri district, Stalin recalled.

The DMK government was instrumental in implementing HDWP that will bring Cauvery water to entire Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri district.

The State government has sanctioned Rs 11.5 crore to uplift the bus-stand in Hosur, work on which was started two years ago. This is the first multi-storey bus-stand in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts having a shopping complex on the building premises.

Managing Director for Municipalities Senthil Kumar, District Collector V Arun  Roy, MLAs Senguttuvan, K Gopinath, Municipal chairman Sathya among others participated.
