CHENNAI: After a brainstorming session, the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Wednesday pulled out of the DMK-led alliance. It has announced that it would lead a separate front, an alternative to the Dravidian majors—the AIADMK and DMK—in Tamil Nadu.

PMK, often criticised for switching alliances frequently, made a dramatic assertion that it would go it alone ‘as a party that leads a separate front’ in all the elections to be held hereafter, including local body polls.
