CHENNAI: Veteran journalist K Kasturi Rangan passed away here this morning after a brief illness.

He was 87 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Kasturi Rangan was the special correspondent of leading Tamil daily Dinamani at New Delhi for over four decades. He was one of the leading members of the 'Delhi Tamil Sangam,' working for the welfare of Tamils in the national capital.

He also found a Tamil literary magazine, Kanaiyazhi, along with well-known Tamil writer Rangarajan alias Sujatha.

His funeral will take place either this evening or tomorrow morning, his family said.
