MADURAI: A batch of petitions have been filed at the Madurai Bench of  the Madras High Court by the State government against former DMK ministers, challenging the orders of the trial court judges, who discharged them from disproportionate assets cases filed during the AIADMK regime in 2001.

The chief judicial magistrates at Dindigul, Madurai, Pudukottai and Tiruchy had discharged I Periyasamy, Kulanthaivelu, S Regupathy and K N Nehru respectively from the disproportionate assets cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The chief judicial magistrate at Kumbakonam had acquitted Ko Si Mani from the cases.
