VELLORE: Tamil Nadu Assembly Assurance Committee visited various places in Vellore and conducted enquiries, on Wednesday.

The team led by the Assurance Committee leader Venkatachalam and members KC Veeramani, Tamizharasan, Aslam Basha visited and enquired about the on-going work of the children welfare section that is being constructed with a budget of `1 crore at the Ambur GH. Vellore Collector S Nagarajan accompanied them.

During the visit, the public submitted a petition to the team demanding the upgradation of the Ambur GH to the taluk hospital grade. They also demanded the filling up of vacant posts in the hospital.

The team then went to the Ambur station near Bethlehem area to enquire about the long-pending demand of a flyover at the station.

They visited the men’s hostel of the Government College at Vinayagapuram in Gudiyatham. They enquired about the food and other facilities provided there. They also visited the Primary Health Centres at Vaduganthangal and K V Kuppam.

Later, the members of the Assurance Committee visited the sewage treatment plant constructed for the implementation of the underground drainage system in the Vellore Corporation. A review meeting was held later in the day.
