PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry bade tearful farewell to veteran Congress leader MOH Farook, who passed away in Chennai on Thursday.

His mortal remains were laid to rest at Uppalam Muslim burial grounds with full state honours.

The funeral procession, which was attended by relatives, dignitaries and people from all walks of life, began from his house on Suffern Street in the heart of the city.Earlier cutting across party lines leaders and members of various political parties and dignitaries paid respects to the departed leader at his residence.

French Deputy Consul  general Rene Marolliers also paid respects on behalf of the French government.

Former  Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader K Ponmudy, PMK Founder S Ramadoss, Congress leader from Tamil Nadu EVKS Elangovan,  AIADMK MLAS, led by State Secretary A Anbazhagan paid their respects.
