PUDUKKOTTAI: DMDK has fielded a 40-year-old fancy shop owner, N Zakir Hussain, and the party’s district secretary as its candidate in the by-poll to the Pudukottai constituency scheduled for June 12.
While major political parties have decided not to contest the by-election, Vijayakanth announced Zakir Hussain, as the party’s candidate. Owner of a fancy store, Hussain has been the party’s district secretary since 2006. Hussain, who has studied up to Class VIII, is married to Shabeena and has two daughters Sabbana and Shahana.
This is the first time Zakir Hussain is contesting an election.
