The Bagayam police on Wednesday filed a case against terror suspect ‘Police’ Fakruddin on charges of preventing the prison officials from discharging their duties, abusing them and threatening them to commit suicide.
Jailor P Susaimanickam filed a complaint with the police stating that Fakruddin, the accused in the murder cases of Sangh Parivar members, prevented the prison officials from discharging their duties on Monday night when he was brought to the prison from Ramanathapuram.
The jailor, in his complaint, stated that Fakruddin was brought to the prison around 8.40 pm on December 2 after the Ramanathapuram court extended his judicial custody till December 16. He abused the prison personnel when they tried to detain him. He also threatened them that he would commit suicide.
Fakruddin demanded the prison officials to lodge him along with his associates- Panna Ismail and Bilal Malik, who were also detained in the Vellore prison on similar charges.
Acting on the complaint, sub-inspector of Police and investigation officer of the case, J Reena, filed a case against Fakruddin under sections 294 (b) (utter abusive words) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his/ her duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
Fakruddin ends hunger protest
Vellore: Fakruddin ended his hunger protest on Wednesday. Sources said an advocate, Abdhul Kahadar Bagadur from Delhi met him on Wednesday evening. After the meeting, Fakruddin ended the fast around 6.15 pm. He ate chappati and rice.
