Fast over prohibition Ends as Law Student, Father Jailed

The city police on Monday sent to jail law student A Nandini and her father Anandan, who were continuing their fast in a hospital, seeking prohibition in the State.

Though they had been arrested under section 151 IPC for protesting at Alwarpuram near A V Bridge and shifted to the GRH a week ago, the duo had refused to take food. They were only on water and their condition worsened, police said.

Meanwhile, a fresh case was booked on Sunday under the the Criminal Law Act 1932 and the duo was shifted to Madurai and Tiruchy prisons, police said.
